One-to-One Counseling

If you’re finally ready to quit dieting once and for all, feel more confident in your body, and learn how to nourish your body without the guilt, you’re in the right place!

Individual nutrition counseling can help you reclaim your happiness and well-being so you can live your life to the fullest. By working with me you’ll never feel deprived, and will learn to reconnect to the pleasures and satisfaction of eating. I incorporate my extensive training as not only an intuitive eating and eating disorder dietitian but also as a health coach and yoga teacher to focus on all areas of your life (such as sleep, relationships, mindset, etc.) that impact your overall health, happiness, and well-being. In this sense I take a truly holistic approach.

WHAT TO EXPECT: WORKING WITH ME

In one-to-one nutrition counseling, we work closely together to understand your individual nutrition needs and address the specific challenges you’re facing surrounding your relationship to food, movement, and your body.

My approach is highly individualized and rooted in the principles of mindful and intuitive eating. I will help you tap into your body’s inner wisdom to assist you in learning how to take care of yourself in all aspects of your self-care including food, movement, stress management, relationships, sleep habits, and more.

By working with me you will learn how, what, and when to eat based on your body’s internal cues rather than external cues (think: others telling you what you “should” and “shouldn’t” eat, restrictive meal plans, etc.). You will learn to re-nourish your body without food-related deprivation, restriction, stress, guilt, shame, and preoccupation.

You will receive one-on-one support from me during the process along with the necessary tools and resources to help you on your journey in-between our sessions.

Stress, “yo-yo” diets and a culmination of other factors had taken a severe physical toll on my body, and even worse—had exhausted me mentally. Meeting with Crystal was like being given a lifeline in an ocean of dietary and nutritional confusion. She helped re-introduce carbohydrates into my diet, as I’d been drowning in a severely low-carb diet for months. This ended up helping to heal a hormonal imbalance that my uninformed, restricted way of eating had created. By truly listening and regularly checking in to see how I was doing, she made a world of difference. Nothing is worse than hating and destroying your own body from the inside out, and I’ll forever be grateful to Crystal for helping close that dark chapter of my life. If you want to learn how to fuel, care for and genuinely appreciate your body through nutrition, with Crystal, you’ll be in caring and capable hands.” -Téa, Arizona

  • Prior to meeting with me you will complete intake paperwork so that I can learn more about your health and nutrition goals, medical history, any medications and/or supplements that you are taking, recent bloodwork, and other important health-related information.

During our 75 minute initial consultation we will explore your relationship with food and your body, and what motivated you to seek out nutrition counseling. I will ask questions to learn more about you so that I can partner with you to create a personalized nutrition plan with specific recommendations to address your primary goals and concerns.

Although I am considered a nutrition expert, I am by no means the expert of you. Your input is of utmost importance throughout this process.

By the end of our initial visit we will have established goals for what you would like to achieve from working together.

After the consultation, you will receive any relevant worksheets and/or education materials to hone in on topics that we discussed during our session, when appropriate.

  • Follow-up sessions are recommended after the initial consultation. During follow-up visits we will explore any questions that came up in-between sessions. We will discuss what went well since our last visit, and what did not go according to plan. I will help you navigate challenges that you are facing, and we will learn something to help you grow and move forward.

During follow-up visits we will review progress on previous goals, and set new goals together. We develop goals that you will be working on in-between sessions together, and these goals are what help facilitate changes in behavior and mindset around food and your body.

During follow-up visits we will also be sure to celebrate successes together, and I will provide ongoing support.

After your follow-up visit(s) you will receive educational handouts and/or worksheets to help reinforce concepts we discussed during our session, when applicable.
